About the event
This foraging & plant fibre processing workshop will be fully immersive and experiential in nature. You'll be learning with your whole body, not just naming the plant or tree, but practicing your own tracking skills of how to notice and explore on your own journey what plants could be used for basket weaving or textiles.
Building this Way of being with Nature changes our experience of the world around us. Ordinary plants that you might walk past everyday become magical beings with which you build a relationship with over time.
The walk will take us around and through Mui Wo, where we will journey to the beautiful Ark Eden valley to have our communal picnic lunch, followed by demonstrations and practice of how to process various fibres to harvest the strong fibres for varying uses.
