“To be whole, to be complete. Wildness reminds us what it means to be human – what we are connected to, rather than what we are separated from”

– Terry Tempest Williams

COME TOGETHER

WILD HEARTH WEAVING

Imagine…

Gathering in that age old way to sit and weave with the threads of Nature around a hearth. Extending yourself in relationship with the Earth through foraging for the plant materials that make up your basket.

Imagine…

Co-creating with Nature, transforming these plant fibres into a vessel that is a collaborative and timeless conversation

Imagine…

Sitting in shared silence and dreaming with your fellow weavers, while weaving your basket and community back together.

Imagine…

Deepening your sense of belonging to Land and generations past through this art of basket weaving.

This is more than just a skills based weaving workshop. This is a participation in restoration & repair of community culture through the art of weaving. This space welcomes the vast diversities of who you are and shares the stories and wisdom of indigenous weavers, of which these traditional practices of weaving arise from.

Comfort - We will be sitting on the floor to weave, please bring cushions or items that will allow you to be comfortable, warm and happy. Light snacks will be provided, you are welcome to bring something you'd like to share with the group, we love ptluck style! But there is no expectation.

Fibres - The plant fibres we will be weaving with will all have been gathered and processed by Jasmine, they will be from the UK as well as gathered on her travels abroad. Where weather and seasons permit, we will explore the local area outdoors to gather plant fibres that are available to weave into your baskets.
